The brief
Restore the original front entry — double-leaf wood door, period brass hardware, marble entry steps. Maintain Landmarks Preservation Commission compliance.
Our approach
Restoration tier with Lead-Safe module. Hand stripping of layered finishes (verified pre-1978 paints), epoxy consolidation of weather-damaged sections, brass hardware cleaning and re-plating, traditional varnish finish system.
Outcome
Original wood preserved, hardware restored, marble cleaned and sealed. Lead-safe disposal documented. Project completed in 14 days. Owner reflection: "It looks exactly like it did the day this house was finished — only better protected."
